Baby Happenings + Nursery Reveal
Well, here we are, 38+ weeks pregnant, feeling very large. It’s hard to believe that we are scheduled to meet our little girl in less than a week if she doesn’t decide to come sooner.
We are feeling mostly prepared. I told Garrett that I’ve never been so ready for an event to happen and so not ready. It’s an odd sort of feeling. Logistically speaking, the nursery is complete, the bags are packed, the car-seat has been installed, classes have been taken, and we’re working on finishing up Christmas shopping. Emotionally, I’m at the point where I’m over pregnancy and just ready to hold her. However, there’s also a strong desire to hold on tight to the time of just me and Garrett. So, in a nutshell, we’re bundles of excitement and anticipation all whilst bracing for the change of our lives!
This entire pregnancy I’ve prayed for her to be big and strong, sweet and kind, smart and tough. I’ve prayed for wisdom, peace, joy, and strength.
Ready or not here she comes, and hopefully we will have nailed down a name besides Chickpea for this baby by the time she comes.
Baby Shower
Halloween weekend, our families through us the most wonderful baby shower where we were shown so much love! We were able to see so many friends and family. We are forever grateful for all those who came and to our families who planned everything so thoughtfully.
See, isn’t it the most beautiful shower?! It has all the details, but more importantly, it has so many people that we love and who love our little girl!
Maternity Photos
While down for the shower, we also had some maternity photos done. Mom did a fabulous job taking them for us! Although I’m about ready to be done with pregnancy, I know I’ll miss it too. Capturing this time is special.
We drove back to Indiana on Halloween and all the gifts fit in our car! Hurrah! Poor Garrett had to leave the next morning by 3:30am for the airport for a meeting. While he was gone, I started the process of organizing the nursery.
Nursery Reveal
We had been working on the nursery in pieces for months. I came up with a design board for inspiration, and began collecting things. We decided to get furniture (sans crib) from IKEA and finish it ourselves. While Garrett did a lot of sanding, I worked on felting the mobile and painting some artwork for the room.
After months of planning, work, and some SOS to hang wallpaper, it’s finished and ready for our girl.
The bees and balls are hand needle felted by myself using wool from our farm’s sheep. The flowers are just cut felt fabric that I and my friends worked on.
So , here we are in the short rows, and by short rows, I mean the last few days. The world will never be the same.
